About Us
Nice to Meet You
Welcome to the Wisconsin Consortium of Catholic Therapists (WICCT)!
This website was created to provide a convenient listing of professional Catholic Therapists and Support Ministers in the state of Wisconsin. We aim to narrow the gap between supply and demand for mental health and addiction services from a Catholic perspective that is faithful to the Gospel and Church teaching.
What’s a “consortium” anyway?
A consortium is just an association of multiple businesses. Most of the therapists listed in this site have their own private practices, but we joined together for two main reasons:
Our Mission
1. We want to be a resource to the Church and to serve its people.
We want to help Catholic families and individuals in their mental health and addiction struggles.
2. As counselors, we want to be a local support network for each other.
We meet together to provide mutual support, training, and education for each other as Catholic Mental Health and Addiction Professionals and Ministers.
Our Patron Saints
We seek the intercession of the Saints below as we work to fulfill our mission and bring Christ’s healing to His people.
All ye holy men and women, pray for us!
St. Dymphna
(7th Century A.D.)
St. Dymphna was a daughter of an Irish pagan king, who converted to Christianity at an early age. She suffered severe abuse at the hands of her father who tried to marry her. When she refused to marry and tried to escape him, she was killed and martyred by her father.
St. Mark Ji Tianxiang
(1834-1900)
St. Mark Ji Tianxiang was a doctor trained in traditional Chinese medicine who converted to Christianity as a young man. Although addicted to opium, he regularly attended mass and received the sacraments. He was martyred during the Chinese Boxer Rebellion when he refused to renounce his faith.
St. Benedict Joseph Labre
(1748-83)
St. Benedict Joseph Labre suffered many mental health problems and was not permitted to enter into religious life. He remained homeless for much of his life, traveling, begging and maintaining a devout life of prayer and fasting.
Our Lady of Champion
The National Shrine of Our Lady in Champion, WI
The Peshtigo, fire of 1871 in Peshtigo Wisconsin is one of the deadliest fires in recorded history. At the center of the almost 2,000 sq. mile fire, a small chapel in Champion, WI was protected from harm by Our Lady’s intercession. She is our local patron.
