Support Ministers

We're happy to assist you

The Wisconsin Consortium of Catholic Therapists (WICCT) does our best to vet the support ministers listed on our page to ensure they are practicing Catholics and are faithful to Church teachings. The support ministers are other specialists and professionals, such as Life Coaches, Spiritual Directors, and other Pastoral Ministers, who work to assist people experiencing major life challenges. They are unlicensed professionals who cannot diagnose nor treat mental illness, they also typically cannot bill health insurance plans, but they are a tremendously helpful resource to people who may need support in various areas of their lives.

In choosing a Catholic support minister, you can rest assured that the counseling you receive will be in conformity with the Catholic Church. Our counselors know that Christ is the ultimate healer and He wants nothing more than to enter into our brokenness and transform it for His greater glory.

Life Coaches:
Life Coaches are specialists who focus on supporting people in clarifying values, setting personal and professional goals, and maintaining the motivation and focus in accomplishing them. Life coaches can assist with a range of areas, including career development, relationships, health and wellness, and personal growth. They help to empower clients to make positive changes and provide guidance and accountability.

Spiritual Directors:

Spiritual Directors have expertise in helping people deepen their relationship with God and the Church. They focus on helping people learn different forms of spiritual devotions and disciplines, such as through prayer and fasting. They help discern how the Holy Spirit is working in your life through your vocation and relationships, and they provide support in navigating through moral issues.

The Wisconsin Consortium of Catholic Therapists (WICCT) does our best to vet through the support ministers listed on our page through an application to ensure they are practicing Catholics and are faithful to Church teachings. However, we cannot guarantee the client’s compatibility or satisfaction with each counselor. It is the sole responsibility of the client to determine if a counselor has the experience, specialty, and qualities he/she deems most important to their care. We encourage the client to ask the counselor questions to help determine if they will be the right fit for them.

Each support minister, although a member of WICCT, is independent and sets their own fee. They typically will not be able to accept insurance. Prior to scheduling a first appointment, it is the responsibility of the client to discuss payment the prospective counselor.

The Wisconsin Consortium of Catholic Therapists (WICCT) is not responsible for any client dissatisfaction with the
care the client receives.
